Under the Learning Journey research program from masters of Pschylogy students of Switzerland research institute, under the leadership of Prof. Michael Zirker from Zurich University of Applied Sciences, ZHAW (Zürcher Hochschule für Angewandte Wissenschaften) has visited Abhyudaya free learning center in Weavers Colony, Bengaluru on 24-Aug-2019.
This program was coordinated by Takshashila Institute of India Studies, Dr Vinay Chandra and his team. Dr. Anuradha Choudhary from IIT-Kharagpur, Smt. Prabha Narasimha, Senior HR L&D professional were there in the program.
Prof Michael Zirkler and team visited the houses of students and interacted with their parents too. They were excited with their India visit and opportunity to learn abundance and unique traditions, languages. with the help of Abhyudaya learning center. Abhyudaya students participated actively in the interaction session, they were eager to know more about Swiss culture and even requested the Swiss team to sing a song.
Abhyudaya a social project runs 83 free learning centers for 3600 socially deprived children with an aim of social transformation through education support. Such programs brings India and Switzerland more closer to each other. According to Lakshminarayana founder of Abhyudaya, if Children of Abhyudaya free learning center visit prominent companies like TE, Schindler, Syngenta, Buhler, Evalueserve they will come to know how Switzerland has harnessed the power of science and technology. Switzerland and its companies being a leader in research and technology this program was a big motivation for many children.
